Shadow Theatre at Bedtime

Make a tiny moonlit scene with three story prompts.

Your work stays on this device. Print it or save it as a PDF with a grown-up.

A cozy off-screen activity

Make a little night theatre.

  1. Ask a grown-up to help you use a torch safely.
  2. Put your hands, toys, or the paper shapes below between the light and the wall.
  3. Give your shadow a voice. What does it do while you sleep, like Maya’s shadow?

Keep lights low, never point a torch into anyone’s eyes, and let an adult hold the torch.

Tonight’s opening line

“A moonbeam slips under a sleeping door…”

“A moonbeam slips under a sleeping door…”

Paper character kit: cut along the dashed lines, tape each shape to a straw.
